Phil has eighteen years of experience as a Project Manager having undertaken extensive technical projects within the electronic security and airport parking environments. Qualified with both Prince 2 project management skills and a degree in electrical & electronic engineering Phil aspires to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
With his ability to lead teams from the design phase to apply risk mitigation measures and to develop project planning schedules Phil’s responsibilities included the production of project programmes, financial progress reports and review of key performance indicators.
His most recent projects have been within the airport sector, mainly at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, where project planning and financial control are considered paramount to achieving the high levels of safety and security required by major airports. Good Project Management providing clear direction is essential in ensuring these objectives are met within the highly regulated environment of an airport.
Working as a Chartered Electrical Engineer for twenty five years Lister has latterly undertaken high integrity design work for several electrical schemes (EC&I) to high hazard installations which have been subject to regulation via the HSE and ONR. This has included working within both the civil nuclear power sector, on the new EDF Hinkley Point ‘C’ station and within the defence sector on multiple nuclear and explosive projects at AWE.
In addition to the systems engineering and life safety doctrine gained from this experience Lister’s previous role, as Associate Electrical Engineer to a commercial building services consultancy, has provided him with knowledge of value engineering and project delivery. Being technically adept with a thorough understanding of new legislation is a key requirement for the design of modern buildings and electrical systems as they continue to become more complex and highly serviced. It is this aspect of electrical design, encompassing environmental and security best practise that interests Lister.
